Third-Party Sonos Controller App Soro Gets New Live Activity and More With Update

The app is a step above the official option for a few reasons. One of my favorites is the wide amount of ways that you can control Sonos speakers. Along with Control Center, you can use a Live Activity, home screen widgets, and even Shortcuts for quick and easy control of what music you want to play.

Shortcuts support is also another standout of the app as there are more than 30 actions you can tap to control both Sonos and IKEA Symfonisk speakers.

And with a move to version 4.1, the app has added a number of new features. With a Liquid Glass design, the app looks right at home on the iPhone.

Any Sonos Music Services that you’ve added through the official app is now fully supported through both Soro and the Shorcuts actions.

Apple Music functionality has also been improved with better library integration, more music browsing options, and richer integration.

The app’s Live Activity has also been redesigned to allow you to jump directly into the EQ, view or edit the music queue, and take more actions.

Soro for Sonos is designed for the iPhone, iPad, and all iPad models. It’s a $7.99 download without any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
