The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 hasn’t arrived on Netflix yet, but I’m already eager to see this new book story brought to the small screen on the show. Like many other fans, I cannot wait until the legal show returns (hopefully in late 2025). The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 will adapt the story of The Law of Innocence by Michael Connelly.
This will be one of the most exciting stories adapted yet, since Mickey Haller is both the defendant and the lawyer. I can’t wait to see how they bring his stressful case to the big screen. However, I also can’t help but get excited by the news that Michael Connelly will release a new book in the Lincoln Lawyer series.
Michael Connelly’s New Lincoln Lawyer Book Involves An AI Case For Mickey Haller
Mickey Haller Goes Up Against A Major AI Company
Mickey Haller has shifted into the world of public interest litigation, and he’s ready to take on the billion-dollar AI industry in Michael Connelly’s newest book. Instead of engaging in criminal law, he files a civil suit against a big AI company.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 gave one underrated character a disappointing storyline, and I’m worried about how they’ll recover in season 4.
Based on the summary provided by Entertainment Weekly, he represents the family of a deceased teen girl whose boyfriend killed her after being told it was okay by an AI chatbot. It’s a horrifying scenario to imagine.
Rather than going at it alone, he enlists the help of investigative journalist Jack McEvoy, the star of another Michael Connelly series. Like most Mickey Haller cases, the lawyer discovers that there is more to the case than it seems on the surface. The book is set to release on October 21, 2025, and I can’t wait to read it.
Why The Proving Ground’s Story Would Be Perfect For A Future Season Of The Lincoln Lawyer
Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer Would Be The Perfect Setting For The Proving Ground
Leading up to the news about The Proving Ground by Michael Connelly, I was worried about what would happen if Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer continued. After season 4, they would only have one more book to work with, and then they’d have to come up with something completely original that rises to the level of Connelly’s story crafting.
Luckily, The Proving Ground not only allows the show to continue for longer, but it also offers exciting new elements. The case in The Proving Ground sounds fresh and entirely new, compared to the past cases at the center of The Lincoln Lawyer.

While waiting for season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer, viewers can tune into a similar legal show starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
Additionally, Netflix could seize the opportunity to acquire the rights to the Jack McEvoy character and books. This feels especially important because they lost out on the opportunity to use Bosch, and it’s caused repeated problems. The streaming giant could not only incorporate Jack McEvoy into The Lincoln Lawyer but also create a series based on him.
Finally, the story would almost certainly attract new viewers because AI is a hot topic that viewers would eagerly engage with. An increased viewership could guarantee the future of Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, which feels important since streaming platforms cancel great shows all the time.
