The Elder Scrolls 6 Can Wait, Skyrim Just Got A Huge New Expansion

Being a fan of Bethesda’s games has been no easy task in recent years, with the wait for titles such as Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls VI seemingly taking a lifetime to be released. The last mainline The Elder Scrolls entry, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, launched way back in 2011, meaning that it has been a whopping 15 years that we have had to wait.

However, fans were over the moon back in 2018 when Bethesda announced a very brief teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI. Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived after it soon became apparent that the game’s launch was nowhere near, and in recent months, Bethesda head Todd Howard has himself revealed that The Elder Scrolls entry was announced far too soon.

Skyrim: Heart Of The Mountain Is An Officially Backed “DLC”

So, with fans none the wiser as to when they can expect the launch of The Elder Scrolls VI, many are returning to the classic that is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, especially as it has been a constant companion for the past 15 years.

Despite being an incredible game in its own right, there is no denying that Skyrim‘s ongoing popularity is thanks to its dedicated modding community who are constantly coming up with ways to bring new and exciting content to the game. From complete overhauls to the introduction of brand-new regions and everything in between, there is something for everyone when it comes to Skyrim mods.

Including Heart of the Mountain, a brand-new mod that comes courtesy of Bethesda’s official Skyrim Creations page.

Explore the mysteries of the Void in a large new land with professionally voiced characters, exciting new music, and new art for a special follower, land, gear, and foes!

Created by DarthVitrial, Heart of the Mountain will see you team up with a mysterious living doll called Audrey and together, you must unravel the mysteries of the Void and learn the truth of the Old Lands. With 70 brand-new quests, 40 full-sized dungeons, new biomes including a sprawling desert, new enemies, and even summonable creatures, this is the ultimate The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim mod and better yet, it is available to download for free.

“We call this place the Old Lands. For thousands of years, those who know of this place have made pilgrimages here… seeking the Blood of Lorkh. The Blood of the world.”

Not only that, but Heart of the Mountain also features over 11,000 lines of professionally voiced dialog, multiple new followers and marriage options, new ingredients and crafting recipes, an all-new soundtrack, and even a new player home. Could this be considered a whole The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim expansion? I would definitely say so.
