Ben White to Sunderland?

Sunderland have emerged as surprise candidates to sign Arsenal defender Ben White after securing Europa League qualification.

White is presently sidelined with a knee injury, but he is widely expected to make his comeback before the start of pre-season.

He has another two years remaining on his contract, but reports claim that Arsenal could cash in on him to pursue a younger replacement.

Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento is on their radar and the Englishman could cost at least £60 million in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Amidst this, it is claimed that the Black Cats are weighing up an approach for White under the recommendation of club captain Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka played with White at the Gunners for multiple seasons and believes he would be a good addition to the ranks as the club prepare for Europe.

White started off his career as a central defender before becoming a right-back at Arsenal. He could be prised away for around £30 million.
