Steam is the leading gaming platform on PC, and with good reason, as millions of players flock back every day to see what’s new or on offer on the storefront. Regardless of how much disposable income you have to play with, there is plenty of fun to be had, even when the store doesn’t have a special event on that drops a bunch of unique promotions.
Happily, Steam does have one such event on right now, and it’s a particularly good one in terms of what’s on offer this time around. That includes a bunch of entirely free offerings which should help you to make a much more informed purchase, if you are in the mood to spend a little of your hard-earned cash.
If you head over to the Steam front page right now, you should be able to find the event page for Ocean Fest, which as the name might suggest, puts games featuring the briny deep at the front and center. As part of that, a ton of demos have been made available to allow players to really learn if a game is right for them before they commit to a purchase.
The Last Caretaker is an Early Access survival game that tasks place with exploring an thriving on a drowned Earth. Big AAA titles like Skull and Bones also feature, with the game now entering its third year in a better state than the debacle it was when it first launched, at the very least.
All Will Fall is another very interesting base building and survival game where you can build massive, floating ocean cities. The game is very deep as well, with an impressive 3D construction system, resource management, and a bunch of other features to wrestle with as you try to let your colony thrive.
If the cozy is more your speed, then Collector’s Cove is probably the game for you. You essentially live on the back of a large sea creature, farming and living quietly at sea. It’s joined in the festival by Loddlenaut, which sits on Overwhelmingly Positive reviews and puts players in the shoes of an interstellar custodian who has been tasked with cleaning up an ocean planet.
Rounding out the list for now (thought there are more) are games like Demon Tides, Darwin’s Paradox, Primordialis, Deep Blue: Devour and Evolve, Spilled!, and Task Force Admiral – Vol.1: American Carrier Battles.
All of the games mentioned above are available in full versions at a reduced rate on Steam as part of Ocean Fest. The event is scheduled to run until May 25, so make sure to log-in and check everything out soon if it sounds like a set of games that you might be interested in.
