Star Wars Fans Think They’ve Spotted A Brand-New Sith In New Trailer

Star Wars Zero Company has the potential to be one of Star Wars’ most fascinating video games lore-wise due to it taking place in the “twilight of the Clone Wars.” Star Wars’ Clone Wars era is also one of its most heavily explored, yet it’d always be neat to learn more about different alien races or groups of individuals and how they fared during these three tumultuous years.

Authored Star Wars Zero Company Operators come from respective corners of the galaxy with their own backstories and motivations relative to the Clone Wars, and this is a great way to introduce new characters or lore to the mythos. That’s not to say there won’t be any iconic Star Wars character cameos, however, with one being teased as a bigger reveal than Anakin Skywalker himself.

On Reddit, fans are debating who they think the mysterious character is who appears in Star Wars Zero Company’s Summer Game Fest 2026 trailer. Out of frame and completely obscured, all we can confirm is that they wield a lightsaber with a red blade, with no identifying descriptors besides its emitter.

Based on the emitter alone, as well as who could feasibly appear during the events of the Clone Wars, user SteelySam13 has ruled out Darth Tyranus/Count Dooku, Savage Oppress, Maul, Asajj Ventress, and Darth Sidious/Sheev Palpatine.

To be fair, this character could be anyone, including an arbitrary non-Force user who happened upon a red-bladed lightsaber. That said, Tognath Jedi Padawan Tel-Rea Vokoss seems taken aback by whomever this character is, suggesting that they’re a true, formidable foe, and users like CT-4426 and 141-Ghost-141 hope it’s Dooku’s “cabal of Sith adepts and acolytes” from Star Wars Legends being brought into canon.

This same trailer revealed that we’ll see Jedi General Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Zero Company. Depending on how long the game’s events span, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility to see Anakin as Darth Vader by the end, too, and many fans are willing to die on that hill.

Rather, user Skipperwill89 could be right in thinking that it’s Tel-Rea’s master in Star Wars Zero Company: “Tel-Rea seems hesitant to pull out her lightsaber, which would make sense if she sees her Master, whom she thought was dead.” Because players can customize their Zero Company to their liking and choose any number of available units to fill their assorted squad with, it should be hilarious to witness how a crew composed entirely of astromech droids could possibly hope to defeat a Force user with a red lightsaber.
