Sands Of Time Is A Near-Perfect Adventure

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, it is hard to believe that it was way back in 1986 that players got to experience The Legend of Zelda franchise for the first time. Now with 21 mainline games under its belt, not including spin-offs, remakes and ports, the Nintendo franchise is one of the most successful and well-loved, and its popularity does not end there.

Later this year, we can expect the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2, and then, in April 2027, the live-action The Legend of Zelda movie will hit cinemas courtesy of Nintendo and Sony Pictures. At the time of writing, Nintendo has not yet announced what the next mainline Zelda entry will be, but with the next few months already jam-packed, fans are in no rush.

The Ocarina Of Time Sequel We Always Wanted

With 21 mainline entries under its belt, it is safe to assume that we all have our favorites and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is definitely at the top of the list. However, with no official sequel, fans have been left wanting more since it first launched back in 1998.

Whilst Nintendo is unwilling to give us a sequel, it seems as though one creator is not, as they have announced The Legend of Zelda: Sands of Time, a ROM hack fan-game for the Nintendo Switch.

Created by ZeldaCentral over on YouTube, Sands of Time is the Ocarina of Time continuation we have all been waiting for and luckily, we can see the game in action thanks to a walkthrough shared to ZeldaCentral’s YouTube channel. Here we can see the introduction as well as our journey to the Inn, Steel Town, Item Shop and Homeless Shelter. Featuring the outdated graphics that take us right back to our childhood, this is a ROM hack you do not want to miss out on.

Zelda Fans Games Just Keep Getting Better

With almost 10,000 views as part of The Legend of Zelda: Sands of Time walkthrough, it is safe to say that fans are impressed with this stunning ROM hack and took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“Can I say, I LOVE these ROM hacks,” one read. “Every time a new one comes out, I just love the nostalgia overload I get. I hope they keep coming.” Another agreed, adding, “Wish the OST was on YouTube. The music is good.”

Whilst there are plenty of The Legend of Zelda ROM hacks out there, one that continues the story of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a must-play for fans and, better yet, you can now download it for free on the Nintendo Switch.
