Despite ending with A Memory of Light in 2013, Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time has remained an integral part of high fantasy. Amazon’s show, which ran for multiple seasons, helped bring Rand al’Thor and the series’ other beloved characters to life (and to a new audience). Now, an official new release for The Wheel of Time should help expand that audience even further.

Called War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time, this is an officially-licensed release from Dire Wolf. You can find out more information about the project over on Kickstarter, where it has already surpassed $1 million in pledges. War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time is a grand strategy board game that focuses on Rand’s war with the Dark One, with modes focusing on the Battle of the Two Rivers all the way through the Last Battle.

There are various bundles up for grabs, including the Dragon Reborn, The One Power, and the Last Battle Bundle. Fans will get to see new art and miniatures for characters like Egwene, Perrin, Mat, Moiraine, Lan, Nyneave, and more. As a huge fan of The Wheel of Time myself, pretty much everything about War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time looks awesome.

The 14-book saga is one of the best and most beloved series of all time. Brandon Sanderson famously took over after Robert Jordan’s passing for the final three novels, and War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time borrows from almost all eras of the books, although it will begin with The Shadow Rising, the fourth book, with the Battle of the Two Rivers (one of the high points in the entire series).
