The Pokémon Trading Card Game has officially announced its 30th Celebration expansion for the TCG. Not only is the set marking Pokémon‘s 30th anniversary milestone, it’s also calling back to popular cards of sets of the past with reprints stamped with the Pokémon 30 logo (a Pikachu, naturally, with a 3 and 0 on its cheeks). However, 30th Celebration isn’t just focused on the past; there are also new cards to collect, including those with a brand-new rarity.
There are also plenty of Pikachu cards to collect in this latest limited-edition collection. Each booster pack will have a Pikachu card, and there are 30 different ones to find. Additionally, all the cards in 30th Celebration will be foils, no matter their rarity.
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Release Date & Preorders
The release date for Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration is September 16, 2026. This will be a global launch, marking the first time the Pokémon Trading Card Game has ever had a simultaneous worldwide release. Right now, there’s no word in the official press briefing that mentions a prerelease, perhaps because of the global launch of this set.
If you’re looking to pre-order products from 30th Celebration, then your best bet is to keep tabs on Pokémon Center. Right now, there are no pre-orders live, but Pokémon Center should get them first. You can also follow along with reliable accounts on social media. These products are expected to sell out fast, so keep notifications on.
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Confirmed Cards
There are a number of confirmed cards already for the 30th Celebration set, including the new Futuristic rarity cards for Mewtwo ex and Mew ex. The numbering goes up to 128, but this Mew ex, presumably the final card, is numbered 158/128, so there’s around 30 secret rares to find. While only a few Pikachu cards were shown off, we know 30 of the 128 will feature Pokémon’s lovable mascot.
The confirmed cards and their numbering are:
- Greninja ex – 021/128
- Pikachu – 036/128
- Pikachu – 037/128
- Pikachu – 047/128
- Espeon – 069/128
- Sylveon ex – 071/128
- Umbreon – 091/128
- Lapras – 131/128
- Drifloon – 136/128
- Lycanroc – 138/128
- Hisuian Zorua – 145/128
- Mew ex – 158/128
- Mewtwo ex – 157/128
You can find images of many of these cards above. There are also two confirmed returning cards that don’t have the typical numbering on them. Those two cards are:
- Charizard from the Base Set
- Pikachu & Zekrom GX from Sun & Moon – Team-Up
More classic cards will return, however.
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Product Line-Up
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration will release with the typical Elite Trainer Box, boxes, and individual booster packs. There’s at least one special collection featuring the Base Set Charizard card that we know of, but expect to see similar boxes releasing in September and beyond. You can also read up more on the 30th Celebration details over on the official Pokémon website.
Overall, this seems like a really nice set, with plenty of callbacks to memorable cards of the past while offering up something new thanks to the addition of the Futuristic rarity. Having all the cards be foils is a really cool added bonus as well. If you’re hoping to snap some products from the Pokémon TCG: 30th Collection lineup, be sure to keep tabs on Pokémon Center, since that’s where preorders will land first.
