Paramount+’s New 10-Part Sci-Fi Video Game Adaptation Officially Surprise Drops All Episodes

Paramount’s colorful sci-fi murder mystery is on the way.

The streamer, home to shows like South Park, the Taylor Sheridan extended universe, and more, has dabbled in sci-fi video game adaptations before. Most notably, their two-season run of Halo drew critical praise while dividing fans before the streamer cancelled the series after two seasons. Now, the streamer has released their long-awaited adaptation of another popular sci-fi video game franchise.

Paramount+’s Ambitious Space Opera Has One Of Sci-Fi TV’s Best Pieces Of Worldbuilding

It’s a good time for small screen space opera, but one of the best shows in the genre from the last decade remains criminally overlooked.

All 10 episodes of the Among Us television series are now available on the streamer. The show is an animated adaptation of the popular multiplayer video game of the same name. Set on a spaceship called The Skeld, the story follows a crew who realize that a dangerous shape-shifting alien has infiltrated their squad. As the number of mysterious deaths increases, the surviving characters must figure out who the impostor is before it’s too late.

In addition to the episodes, Paramount+ has officially released a new trailer for the highly anticipated Among Us animated series, giving fans of the game and newcomers alike their first look at the adaptation. The first episode debuted during Summer Game Fest 2026, where it was also announced that all ten episodes of the series would drop at once on the streaming platform.

The show was created by Owen Dennis and produced by CBS Studios and Innersloth. The animated series’ trailer revealed that Among Us season 1 will essentially be a science fiction murder mystery set in space. While the original multiplayer game focuses on gamers attempting to identify a hidden Impostor sabotaging the spaceship crew from within, the first look turns that concept into a comedic but suspenseful storyline.

The trailer introduces viewers to a colorful group of Crewmates aboard a ship tasked with moving trash across the galaxy. At first, the mission appears to be relatively normal, but things quickly take a deadly turn when they find out there is an impostor among them. The members of the crew must act quickly to figure out who the outsider is as tensions escalate, and the group begins to turn on each other.

Among Us has a star-studded ensemble cast. The show features Yvette Nicole Brown (Orange), Kimiko Glenn (Cyan), Liv Hewson (Black), Ashley Johnson (Purple), Wayne Knight (Lime), Phil LaMarr (Brown), Randall Park (Red), Dan Stevens (Blue), Debra Wilson (Yellow and Computer), Elijah Wood (Green), and Patton Oswalt (White).

The video game Among Us was originally released in 2018. The plot of the game is very similar to the storyline of Paramount’s upcoming adaptation. The title supports cross-platform play and was first launched on mobile devices in June 2018 for iOS and Android. A Windows version followed in November of the same year. As its popularity grew, it made its way to major platforms such as Nintendo Switch in December 2020 before launching on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in December 2021.
