New Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Officially Confirmed For 2027

Whilst I try to remain unbiased in these stories, it is hard not to express my excitement over the recent news of an upcoming collaboration between Cyberpunk 2077 and another of my favorite games of all time. Although details remain scarce at this time, it is a collaboration that we all hoped for, and its 2027 release window gives us ample time to guess which iconic characters and their aesthetics will be matched together.

Yes, I am talking about the news that Cyberpunk 2077, more specifically Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, will be heading to Overwatch, the top-rated hero shooter on the market, some time in the new year. Announced at 2026’s Blizzcon, which took place over the weekend, the collaboration will see Cyberpunk: Edgerunners characters receive skins in Overwatch, allowing fans to see the two franchises collide, and unfortunately, spend a whole lot of money in the process.

Overwatch Blizzard

Over the years, Overwatch has collaborated with the biggest names in entertainment, including anime such as Cowboy Bepop and One Punch Man, car brands such as Porsche and even Transformers, and more recently, LE SSERAFIM, the K-Pop group which has partnered up with Overwatch on three separate occasions.

Now it seems as though Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be getting its time in the spotlight in an upcoming collaboration, and whilst we do not know the full extent of this crossover, including how many skins will be made available, we do know that David from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Talia from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will be making an appearance. However, which Overwatch characters they will be paired with remains to be seen.

From a lore perspective, David would be best matched with Lucio, a support hero who is capable of reaching high speeds across the battlefield, much like when David uses his Sandevistan. As for Talia, we are yet to see her full abilities in action, as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 does not air until October 2026. However, her agility, acrobatic skills and physique could suit Widow, our resident sniper.

We can also expect to see both Rebecca and Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners make an appearance, although this has not yet been confirmed. However, over on r/Overwatch, fans quickly took to the comments to share which skins they would like to see.

“I hope it’s not all just Edgerunners, because Johnny Silverhand x Cassidy is the easiest dunk on a collab skin of all time,” one comment read. “Metal arm, big hand cannon, one of the main OGs.” Whilst another suggested Sombra taking on the role of Lucy, which both having the required hacking skills, and Doomfist receiving an Adam Smasher skin courtesy of their love of, well, smashing things with their fist.

At the time of writing, no official skins other than David and Talia have been confirmed, but with it being one of the most highly anticipated crossovers in Overwatch history, Blizzard has a lot of weight on its shoulders to deliver.
