Stranger Things could be returning for more mayhem.

In an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer give a cautious update about a new secret live-action spinoff to their highly successful series. The Duffer brothers also replied with “maybe” when asked if showrunners have been hired and confirmed the series won’t be anthological, so it will be focused on a particular character or group. However, they remained extremely secretive about what they have planned:

“We can’t say anything. We can’t say anything. Honestly, I don’t think we can say anything. God, there’s so much I wish I could say.

I think we’re just trying to be very careful. We don’t want to rush it. We don’t want it to be anything but excellent.

I think it’s going to happen, but we just, you know, we’re just like I said, trying not to rush it. We’re trying. No one wants to make it just to make it. No one wants to just do it to continue Stranger Things. Like it has to be awesome or forget it. That sort of everybody’s mentality about it.”

More to come…
