Netflix's 5-Part Mystery Thriller With Mare Of Easttown Vibes Instantly Surges On Netflix's Top Charts

As the mystery thriller continues to thrive, Netflix has landed another successful series in 2026. With the many Netflix crime dramas and thrilling mysteries that have come and gone, the new year has already emerged with another hit in the genre.

Following its premiere on January 2, Land of Sin has become an instant success for Netflix, currently trending at #8 among subscribers in the United States. The Swedish drama has yet to land a critics’ score or a Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes.

In Sweden, Land of Sin is fittingly surging at #1 on Netflix, with the five-part series coming from Beartown and Gollath’s Peter Grönlund, who created, wrote, and directed the show. The following image comes from Swedish Netflix:

Netflix describes Land of Sin as “Set in the Scanian countryside, this five-part series follows the investigation of a young teenager who is found dead on the Bjäre peninsula. Investigator Dani and her new partner Malik quickly uncover a violent family feud all while facing pressure from the family patriarch to solve the crime before he takes justice into his own hands.”

The Land of Sin cast stars Krista Kosonen as Dani, Mohamed Nour as Malik, and Peter Gantman as Elis. Grönlund shared how this five-part series isn’t “your average crime show.” According to the creator, “The world we enter here is darker, more fragile — a place where shame, love and violence share the same pulse. We pushed beyond formula and style to portray the people at the edge, their fears, loyalties and survival instincts — a raw, cinematic journey into the psychology that drives them, and the secrets they carry like a second skin.”
