Naruto Shippuden’s Long-Awaited Return Is An Unexpected Crossover

Naruto has been a force in the anime world for decades. It came around after the next wave of shonen following the success of Dragon Ball Z in the West, and it’s been a huge part of anime vocabulary for ages. In fact, it’s still going strong in many forms, including tabletop and video games.

You never really know when Naruto himself is going to show up anywhere either. It was wild when he and his crew first appeared in Fortnite, but before then the series had a massive presence in the arena battler scene. Over on Reddit, fans are discussing the latest Naruto crossover, and it’s something that’s completely unexpected.

Naruto Is Back With An Unexpected Crossover

After years in operation and already hosting tons of wacky crossovers, PUBG Mobile is mixing with Naruto. It features cel-shaded mythic outfits, fully voiced emotes, and a Ninjas Assembled mode.

The latter allows players to use ninjutsu techniques including the Shadow Clone Jutsu, Rasengan, and Chidori. Locations from Naruto are in, and the “Naruto run” animation is too. All in all, fans are responding well to it.

Kakashi, Sakura, and Sasuke outfits are available, plus an original voice pack, a special emote, and a crossover vehicle. It’s a multi-faceted crossover that impacts the core game and beyond.

Reactions are all over the place, but a lot of fans are really digging the crossover; “I would rate it 9/10. The game has a lot of new items that playing matches are now thrilling. I still have not managed to kill the Nine-Tails, so I am deducting 1 point there.” Another fan writes: “It’s actually good once you know how to play the new skills, been having a lot of fun with the skills, especially the fireball one and the sprint basically makes you impossible to hit”

The Majority Of Fans Seem To Love It

Others have a more measured approach: “I’d say it’s a solid 7, especially compared to events we have had lately, but not as good as Arcane. I feel like they are doing too much – too many events to complete, too many in-match skills, too many event places, too much to do in general which takes away from the actual gameplay. We spend half of the time looting up to be able to kill the fox, and the other half killing the fox because my clan is doing the card event so we literally kill the fox and off ourselves, not bother finishing the match to win, just jump into the next one.”

A few players think the Naruto collab needs work: “There’s way too much new stuff it’s confusing and the way the put the buttons was so bad. I also fear that after this event everyone’s gonna be like ninjas at killing people running since we’re all locking in on ppl running so fast and getting them.”
