Mohammad Amir identifies two key threats for India

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has named Mohammad Rizwan and Naseem Shah as the biggest threats for Team India in the Champions Trophy 2025. Amir cited Rizwan’s excellent record against the Men in Blue and reckoned Naseem has brilliant control over his line and length.

“Mohammad Rizwan has always been a threat to India. His record in these matches is excellent,” Amir said in an interview with Times of India.

“I think the other important player is Naseem Shah. He has been a consistent bowler for Pakistan and has excellent control over his line and length,” added Amir.

Amir also shared his thoughts on Shaheen Afridi, stating that the left-arm pacer has struggled after his knee injury and that’s why he did not go with Afridi.

“A few years ago, I would have definitely included Shaheen Afridi as a key player. He used to bowl at over 145 km/h with excellent swing, but after his injury, his speed has dropped to 134-135 km/h. His ability to take wickets with the new ball has also been affected,” Amir added further.
