Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh update on Ethan Nwaneri following the 1-0 Premier League loss to West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners suffered their third defeat of the league campaign after a poor showing at home. They lacked the cutting edge up front and were beaten by a single goal from Jarrod Bowen.
Speaking after the game, Arteta was asked about the fitness of Nwaneri, who walked gingerly off the field after he was replaced by Raheem Sterling towards the end of the derby.
The Spaniard dismissed any injury for the teenager and added that he was only struggling with fatigue, he added: “It was just fatigue, I think.”
Arsenal have fallen eight points behind leaders Liverpool following the Hammers loss. Their chances of winning the league are fading away.
Liverpool play their next game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow and Arsenal will hope the holders do them a favour.
