Arteta confirms double Arsenal injury blow

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a double injury blow ahead of the Champions League clash against Lille at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Leeds United last weekend and will be aiming to continue the streak against Lille.

Ahead of the game, Arteta has confirmed worrying news on the injury front, with both Piero Hincapie and Martin Zubimendi on the sidelines.

The pair suffered ankle injuries during the warm-down session after the Leeds game, and they have now been ruled out of tomorrow’s encounter.

While Zubimendi’s issue seems a minor one, there are concerns that Hincapie could be out for several weeks after suffering an ankle sprain.

Arsenal picked up a 1-0 win over Napoli in their Champions League opener last month, and will be aiming to beat Lille at home tomorrow.

Arteta is expected to make multiple changes from the recent win. The likes of Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino could start.
