Marvel has released the first full trailer for the new universe it is launching this fall. Things are about to get dark in the Marvel Universe, with the launch of Midnight, a horror reimagining of the company’s iconic superheroes. Kicking off in October, Midnight is expected to break new ground for Marvel with its intensity and gore.
The Midnight Universe is starting with re-envisioned versions of Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, and the trailer Marvel dropped gives fans terrifying glimpses of all three.
Like Marvel’s Ultimate books, and DC’s current Absolute initiative, Midnight will stand as its own distinct Marvel timeline. Unlike those projects, though, Midnight is a full-scale genre project, the scale of which has never been attempted before in superhero comics.
Let’s unpack the trailer and get a better sense of what scares and shocks await Marvel Midnight readers when the first books are released in just over a month.
