View Newcastle summer 2026 transfer targets
Manchester United are determined to land a new left-back before the transfer window closes on September 1.
The Red Devils are eager to strengthen the left side of their backline, given Luke Shaw‘s worrying injury record.
Shaw managed to stay fit for the entire 2025/26 season, but that was largely due to the lack of European football.
With the extra European workload, United are wary that Shaw could be sidelined with an untimely setback.
Patrick Dorgu was signed to compete with Shaw, but the Dane has looked more comfortable as a wide attacker.
Hence, United are in the transfer market for a new solution and the hierarchy are looking at several names.
Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall has been mentioned as a target for a while, but a move is unlikely to materialise.
With the recent sales of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle have closed the door on Hall’s exit.
Hall is also fine to continue with the Magpies next term.
