Manchester United have reached an agreement to land Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to journalist David Ornstein
The Belgium international has been one of the Villans’ best players over the past three years, but he has now decided to pursue a new challenge elsewhere.
He has a release clause worth £35 million in his Villans contract, and United have made the decision to trigger the option. Personal have likewise been agreed as well.
Tielemans is expected to travel for his medical in the next 24 hours and he looks poised to become the club’s second major signing of the summer after Andrey Santos.
Irrespective of Tielemans’ arrival, United are expected to pursue another marquee midfielder and the focus could be on landing someone with plenty of pace as well as height.
United are also expected to bolster other key positions ahead of the new season. A new left-back and a deputy goalkeeper are poised to be signed, as per reports.
