View Man City summer 2026 transfer targets
Manchester City are preparing discussions with Chelsea over a possible deal for defender Malo Gusto this summer.
The Cityzens currently have Matheus Nunes as the regular right-back, but they are keen on landing a proper competitor.
Gusto has been earmarked as an ideal target, and it is claimed that they are planning to open talks with the Blues for him.
However, it appears unlikely that a deal will materialise as the Blues value the Frenchman and view him as indispensable.
Gusto can operate as a right and left-back, and he has provided superb cover whenever Reece James has been rested.
James’ injury and fitness issues mean he can’t play every game and Gusto has proved a fantastic signing in recent years.
Hence, it appears unlikely that the Blues will entertain his exit unless the Cityzens are prepared to make a significant bid.
Gusto is presently with France at the World Cup. Les Bleus start their campaign against Senegal on the 16th of June.
