Lord of the Rings fans are finally getting the open-world RPG set in Middle-earth they’ve been waiting on for what feels like forever, with developers behind the Kingdom Come: Deliverance franchise at Warhorse Studios officially confirming the project earlier last week. It’s just one of several exciting LOTR announcements of late, with Stephen Colbert and Peter Jackson confirming earlier this month there’s yet another new film in development taking fans back to the early chapters of Tolkien’s Fellowship of the Ring.
Further, with Rings of Power season 3 officially slated to air this November and The Hunt for Gollum getting an official release date set for December 2027, there’s a lot to look forward to in the Lord of the Rings universe. And if you’re a hardcore Lord of the Rings fan looking for something to tide you over until these various projects launch, Lord of the Rings: Gandalf – Mithrandir is officially releasing in July 2026 (via Sideshow).
Lord of the Rings: Gandalf – Mithrandir is a brand-new 2026 release from legendary artist Jerry Vanderstelt featuring Gandalf the Grey Wanderer in a stunning high-resolution fine art print, officially licensed by Warner Bros. and re-releasing through Sideshow Collectibles later this year. The fine art painting is printed in gicleé style, which is a high-quality technique using specialized inkjet printing technology and giving the painting a hyper-detailed look.
The print is available for pre-order through Sideshow now, expected to ship between July and September 2026. Each print is hand-signed by Jerry Vanderstelt himself and comes with a verified Certificate of Authenticity. These are a limited-edition run of just 500 pieces, and measures 18 x 24 inches (46 x 61 cm).
The print features Gandalf, aka Mithrandir in Elvish, wearing his iconic wizard’s hat, wielding a staff, and smoking his long-stem pipe. They’re available for pre-order for $80 USD, and are likely to sell out quickly.
Sideshow has several unique Lord of the Rings fine art prints from Vanderstelt available for purchase and/or pre-order now, including a stunning Flame of Udun print featuring the epic face-off between Gandalf and the dreaded Balrog, as well as a beautiful Smaug print featuring the legendary dragon from the Hobbit film trilogy.
These Vanderstelt prints are must-have additions to any Lord of the Rings fan’s wall art collection, and are extremely high-quality pieces of art that won’t break the bank compared to some other high-end collectibles, such as the various Lord of the Rings statues or masks that run into the hundreds and thousands of dollars. Be sure to claim yours soon before they sell out entirely, as Vanderstelt prints are highly sought after in the Lord of the Rings community.
