Liverpool target Akliouche hints toward summer transfer

Monaco forward Maghnes Akliouche revealed he is open to a transfer this summer, but only after the World Cup.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool ahead of the 2026-27 season, while Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the winger.

Akliouche provided 10 assists across all competitions for Monaco this season, the most of any player, while he scored the third-most goals for the club (seven).

Only Folarin Balogun (23) directly contributed to more goals than Akliouche among Monaco players, while the Frenchman completed the most dribbles (48) and second-most take-on ending carries (35).

His performances earned him a place in France’s 26-man World Cup squad, which Akliouche insisted has his full focus at the moment.

“Will the next step be a transfer this summer? Yes, but frankly, I’m really focused on this World Cup,” he told Nice-Matin.

“I know anything can happen, even during the competition. It’s a great opportunity for exposure, but I’m staying focused on the national team’s objectives.

“I don’t want to disrespect my club by talking about the transfer window now either. There are other things to deal with.”

Monaco finished seventh in Ligue 1 in 2025-26, clinching a Conference League place, ending the campaign seven points off the Champions League places.

Head coach Sebastien Pocognoli was relieved of his duties earlier this month, with Filipe Luis reportedly set to take over for the upcoming season.
