Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a winter approach for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, who was previously wanted by Chelsea.
Chelsea were determined to bring the Senegal international to Stamford Bridge this summer after selling Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City.
However, they were unable to strike an agreement on transfer deadline day after the Ligue 1 outfit decided against selling the highly-rated star.
The Blues were bitterly disappointed by Monaco pulling out of a verbal agreement, and it is unlikely that they will return for Camara’s services.
Still, the 22-year-old could make the switch to the Premier League. Liverpool are closely tracking him and could swoop for his services this winter.
The Reds did not land a replacement for Curtis Jones over the summer and have identified Camara as a possible candidate to fill the void.
Monaco have made a brilliant start to the Ligue 1 season as they find themselves top with 13 points, and won’t let Camara go on the cheap.
