Gusto won’t join Liverpool

Liverpool have made a surprise loan proposal for Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto on transfer deadline day.

The Reds recently completed the big-money signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain to bolster their wide attacking department.

With the Frenchman’s arrival, the club don’t have sufficient funds for another permanent signing, and they are leaning towards a temporary deal.

The Reds have tried to land Gusto on a season-long loan, but the Blues are adamant that the Frenchman won’t be permitted to leave that way.

Chelsea will only entertain the permanent sale of the former Lyon man. They are adamant that he won’t be sold for anything less than £75m.

Manchester City also explored a move for the Lyon graduate, but ultimately decided against pursuing a deal for the Frenchman this summer.

Gusto’s future will remain a topic of focus, particularly with the Blues having Reece James, Pedro Neto and Marco Palestra for the right wing-back spot.
