Lineups, team news, confirmed starting teams as Eriksen, Lindelof start

What was once the fiercest rivalry in English football in the 1990s and 2000s is now just another fixture, with Manchester United continuing to slide away from relevance at the top of the English game.

United started Sunday 15th in the Premier League – 21 points behind second-placed Arsenal – with the chance to rise no higher than 13th by the end of the day.

Arsenal arrive at Old Trafford having all but secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League following their 7-1 win at PSV Eindhoven.

You can follow the action with 101GreatGoals.com’s live updates from Man United vs Arsenal, and we have you covered for the line-ups, team news and confirmed starting sides.

Man United lineup vs Arsenal

Full-back Patrick Dorgu serves the second match of his three-game domestic suspension for United. Centre-back Harry Maguire and midfielder Manuel Ugarte remain out, having missed the trip to Real Sociedad for a 1-1 draw in the Europa League on Thursday.

Forward Rasmus Hojlund, who has gone 19 games without a goal, is on the bench, while Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen come in.

Manchester United starting XI: Onana, Yoro, De Ligt, Lindelof, Mazraoui, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot, Eriksen, Garnacho, Zirkzee

Subs: Harrison, Mee, Amass, Heaven, Collyer, J. Fletcher, Moorhouse, Hojlund, Obi

Arsenal lineup vs Man United

Arsenal full-back Myles Lewis-Skelly, 18, is back on the bench after serving a one-match domestic suspension for being sent off against West Ham.

It was Lewis-Skelly’s second red card of the season, while he was also dragged off against PSV after just 35 minutes, having been booked. Riccardo Calafiori replaces him in the starting line-up from that game.

“I didn’t want to take any risks and be managing the game for so long, especially with how important the competition is,” Mikel Arteta said.

“It was quite clear that we had a liability there with the yellow card and the next [foul].  It’s a lesson to learn for him, for sure. We will support and help him.

“The line is really thin in sport and he needs to understand that. He is very intelligent and extremely demanding of himself. He is a perfectionist and he is here to learn.”

Arsenal starting XI: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Nwaneri, Trossard, Merino

Subs: Neto, White, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Tierney, Lewis-Skelly, Jorginho, Sterling, Martinelli
