Krunal Pandya clears the air on equation with brother Hardik Pandya amid IPL 2026 fallout rumours

Indian cricket is never short of high-stakes drama, but when it involves two of its biggest superstars who also happen to be brothers, the spotlight burns twice as bright. Throughout the recently concluded IPL 2026 season, rumors of a growing rift between Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya dominated sports headlines and social media feeds. The speculative fire started during a tense league match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium. Fans noticed an unusual coldness in their pre-match greeting, a stark departure from their usual warmth. The tension escalated on the field when Krunal targeted the MI skipper with a sharp bouncer, and later, celebrated Hardik’s dismissal by Jacob Duffy and Romario Shepherd with unbridled joy. Fans and pundits quickly jumped to conclusions, hinting at a major fallout. Now, Krunal has officially broken his silence to clear the air.

Krunal Pandya breaks silence on reported rift with brother Hardik Pandya after IPL 2026

Putting an end to weeks of intense media speculation, Krunal completely dismissed any rumours of an animosity or cold war between him and Hardik. Speaking in an exclusive chat with the Times of India, the elder Pandya brother emphasized that on-field rivalries are strictly professional and have zero bearing on their deep family bond. While they give 100% to their respective franchises, their relationship behind closed doors remains entirely rooted in mutual growth and a shared love for the game.

We have always discussed cricket in terms of tactical, technical stuff which always helps. It has always been a good conversation, a very healthy conversation about cricket and how we can get better. When you have your brother also playing the same sport, it always helps each other,” Krunal explained, shrugging off the outside noise.

Krunal, who has often seen his younger brother grab bigger headlines for his explosive finishes and high-profile captaincy, highlighted that their equation has always been built on a foundation of constructive critique. Rather than letting the intense IPL competitive environment pull them apart, their constant cricketing dialogue has actually served as a catalyst for their individual career longevity.

The bond of 10 titles between Pandya brothers

To truly understand the depth of their bond, one only needs to look at the unprecedented success the family has enjoyed. Following RCB’s spectacular IPL 2026 campaign, where they successfully defended their title under pressure, Krunal achieved a massive personal milestone. He now boasts five IPL trophies, winning three with MI and two back-to-back titles with RCB. Coincidentally, Hardik also holds five titles (four with MI and one as the captain of Gujarat Titans).

Reflecting on this incredible, unmatched feat, Krunal took a moment to share a glimpse of family pride. “And, I mean, 10 trophies in the Pandya household is not a bad number to have. God’s been kind,” he noted with a smile. He compared the joy of winning championships to parenthood, stating that every single title is hard-earned and impossible to rank over another.

While credit goes to his own performance, Krunal was quick to praise RCB’s backend management for their clinical auction strategy, noting that half the battle is often won at the auction table before players even step onto the field. Ultimately, Krunal’s candid reflections make it clear that while IPL rivalries bring out fierce competitiveness on the pitch, the Pandya brotherhood remains completely unshakable.
