Tracker is getting an exciting new release, just as the show’s fourth installment is taking shape. Lead star and executive producer Justin Hartley recently confirmed that Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Russell Shaw, Colter’s older brother, in Tracker season 4. This previews the fact that the hit procedural will experience a fair bit of drama when it premieres on Sunday, October 4 at 9:30 PM ET on CBS.

Viewers will have a chance to catch up on Tracker season 3 before then, as it will be added to Hulu on September 4. The show has its first streaming window on Paramount+, which, like CBS, is owned by Paramount Skydance. But because Tracker is produced by Disney’s 20th Television, it eventually gets a second window on Hulu.

Tracker Season 3’s Hulu Release Ramps Up Excitement For Season 4’s Arrival

Tracker season 3 will be added to Hulu just one month before season 4 premieres on CBS. It’s perfect timing for the series to attract a new audience or potentially reenergize lapsed fans. Hulu is the main home of This Is Us, the twisty family drama where Hartley played Kevin Pearson for six seasons, and subscribers may be curious about seeing the actor on a thumbnail for his action drama series.

It may also be an incentive for viewers who want to see Hartley’s starring role as Colter Shaw but may not have the Paramount+ streaming service. The hope with these second windows is that audiences like what they see enough to follow the story to a different streaming platform. In the case of Tracker season 3, it’s actually a surprisingly solid starting point. There is some of the mystery that’s related to Colter and Russell’s father, Ashton, but the series does a good job of keeping viewers up to speed.

When Will Tracker Season 4 Release On Hulu?

Tracker season 2 was added to Hulu in mid-September 2025, while the procedural’s breakout first installment was added in October 2024. Going by this timeline, which season 3 matches, it looks likely that Tracker season 4 will be added to Hulu closer to the end of next year.

It’ll be interesting to see how the procedural will look at that point. It’s had some big Tracker character changes in the past few years, though the Shaw family mystery has remained a constant. It’s worth monitoring whether season 4 will maintain that trend or if, as hinted by some storylines in season 3, the CBS stalwart continues embracing more of a sci-fi bent.
