John Stones joins Inter Milan

John Stones has joined Inter Milan on a free transfer after signing a two-year contract with the Serie A champions.

The England international left Manchester City at the end of his contract earlier this summer, bringing an end to a trophy-laden 10-year spell at the Etihad Stadium.

Inter confirmed the 32-year-old defender has signed a deal until June 2028.

Stones arrives in Italy after helping England finish third at the 2026 World Cup, where he started three matches for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

The centre-back joined City from Everton in 2016 and established himself as one of the Premier League’s standout defenders under Pep Guardiola.

During his time in Manchester, Stones won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups and lifted the Champions League as part of City’s historic treble-winning campaign in 2023.

He made 295 appearances for the club, adding further silverware including five League Cups, three Community Shields, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Stones now joins an Inter side that claimed the Serie A title last season, finishing 11 points clear of second-placed Napoli, as they look to defend their domestic crown under Cristian Chivu.
