Carragher on Arsenal & Man City title race

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has made his Premier League prediction on Arsenal after Manchester City’s convincing 3-0 win over Liverpool on Sunday.

The Cityzens reclaimed their three-point lead at the top of the table ahead of Arsenal after beating the Reds at Anfield. They look in a strong position this time around, but the Premier League charges linger over them.

Man City have been found guilty on 115 charges for financial breaches and there is an expectation that they would receive at least a points deduction. It could potentially be a heavy one to end their league title pursuit.

Speaking on Sky Sports yesterday, Carragher said that he wants the verdict as soon as possible so that the title race does not get dragged out without merit.

He added that Arsenal and Man City are the best teams by a mile and he does not see anyone else competing for the league title this campaign.

Carragher said: “We need a resolution as soon as possible because we’re watching a game and not sure what it actually means going forward.

“They’re the two best teams by a mile, we know that, and no one else is really going to compete with them for the title. We want every game to matter, but right now it doesn’t.”
