IPL 2026: Krunal Pandya reacts on social media after Virat Kohli proves his prediction right during RCB vs KKR in Raipur

The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur bore witness to a vintage masterclass on Wednesday, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a commanding 6-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In the 57th match of IPL 2026, the narrative was centered entirely on one man: Virat Kohli. Following a brief slump that saw him record consecutive ducks against Mumbai Indians, Kohli silenced his detractors with a breathtaking unbeaten 105, steering RCB to the top of the table with five balls to spare.

Krunal Pandya shares reaction after his Virat Kohli forecast comes true in IPL 2026 clash vs KKR

While the cricketing world erupted in praise for Kohli’s 60-ball century, one man remained entirely unsurprised. Krunal Pandya, Kohli’s RCB teammate, took to Instagram immediately after the win to remind fans of his unwavering faith. Posting a picture of the duo celebrating, their hands joined to form a ‘100’, Krunal’s caption was as succinct as it was confident: “I told you so.”

This post was a direct callback to the intense scrutiny Kohli faced just a week ago. After Kohli struggled in the previous games, Krunal had stood as a lone voice of absolute certainty. At the time, Krunal told the press, “Virat Kohli is a champion player. When he fails for two games, I get more excited because I know he will come back. He is a different beast, he has a lot of hunger. From here on, I am sure Virat Kohli will do Virat Kohli things.”

By delivering a Player of the Match performance under the Raipur lights, Kohli turned Krunal’s “forecast” into a reality, proving that form is temporary, but his legendary hunger for runs remains permanent.

RCB outclass KKR for a comfortable win in IPL 2026

The match began with KKR setting a formidable target. Led by Ajinkya Rahane, the Knight Riders posted 192/4 in their 20 overs. The foundation was laid by a steady 19 from Rahane and an explosive 71 from Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who anchored the innings with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Rinku Singh provided the late-inning fireworks, smashing an unbeaten 49 off just 29 deliveries. RCB’s bowling effort was spearheaded by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who proved his worth by picking up a wicket for 34 runs, while Josh Hazlewood and Rasikh Salam chipped in with a wicket apiece.

In response, RCB’s chase was a masterclass in calculated aggression. Despite losing Jacob Bethell early for 15, Kohli found a steady partner in Devdutt Padikkal, who contributed a vital 39 off 27 balls. The pair put on a 92-run stand that effectively broke the back of the chase.

KKR’s Kartik Tyagi was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3/32, including the wickets of Padikkal and Tim David to briefly stall the momentum. However, Kohli remained immovable. Reaching his century in just 58 balls, he finished the game at 194/4 in the 20th over. With this win, RCB solidified their 1 ranking, fueled by a ‘reborn’ Kohli who continues to redefine longevity in the T20 format.
