Henry Cavill‘s new R-rated thriller continues to be a global streaming sensation on different services, and it shows how viewers everywhere remain interested in DC’s former Superman actor and director Guy Ritchie. Cavill is a major star, with his role as Superman in the DCEU movie timeline helping set him up with several high-profile projects over the years. One of those was Netflix’s The Witcher, with the fantasy series showcasing Cavill’s star power as a streaming lead. While Cavill has since exited both roles, with David Corenswet as Superman and Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, Cavill’s career is doing just fine.

Ritchie & Cavill’s In The Grey Can’t Be Stopped On Streaming

At the time of writing, Cavill’s In the Grey is still trending on multiple streaming services all over the world. In the United States, In The Grey is the most-watched movie on Starz, beating movies like the Michael Jackson biopic Michael; the sports drama Southpaw, which is led by In the Grey star Jake Gyllenhaal; Sydney Sweeney’s R-rated psychological thriller The Housemaid, and more. Cavill’s In the Grey has also found global success on other streaming services. Outside the US, the R-rated action thriller directed by Ritchie is currently the 8th most-watched movie on Prime Video worldwide, according to FlixPatrol.

In the Grey leaves behind the fiery Turkish drama Sultana and the star-studded thriller Anniversary, which features Lanterns‘ Kyle Chandler, on Prime Video’s global chart. That list is currently led by the new Prime Video original movie You+Me – Against the World, a French romance. In the Grey has also become a digital sensation in certain countries on the Apple TV Store, according to FlixPatrol. Ritchie’s latest film with Cavill ranks high as the 7th most-watched film on the platform. In the Grey is reportedly trending on the Apple TV Store in 17 countries, with the US not among them.

Do Cavill & Ritchie Have Any Other Films On The Horizon?

In the Grey does not mark the first time that Cavill and Ritchie have worked together. In fact, it is the third movie Cavill leads for the popular director, with the duo having previously teamed up for the spy film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. in 2015, and more recently, the star-studded The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare in 2024, with actors like Reacher‘s Alan Ritchson and Young Sherlock‘s Hero Fiennes Tiffin joining Cavill. Right now, Cavill and Ritchie do not have an announced movie together, but In the Grey‘s continued success on streaming could come to change that.
