GTA 6 Leaked Price Slammed By Gamers, And We Can See Why

With Grand Theft Auto VI set to launch in just over six months, we are finally in the homestretch, and what a wait it has been. It is hard to believe that it was way back in 2013 that the last Grand Theft Auto entry, Grand Theft Auto V, was released, and even harder to believe that we have waited this long for the next installment.

Following multiple delays which pushed the release date from Fall 2025 to May 2026, and finally November 2026, it feels as though we have been waiting forever to see the introduction of brand-new protagonists Jason and Lucia as they embark on a Bonnie and Clyde-esque adventure across Leonida and beyond in Grand Theft Auto VI.

However, the wait is almost finally over, but that has not stopped fans from bombarding Rockstar Games with some of the most important questions. Where is trailer three? When do pre-orders go live? And perhaps most importantly, how much will a copy of Grand Theft Auto VI cost?

Well, according to one retailer, a standard edition of Grand Theft Auto VI could cost as much as $115. This comes following a report from Games Radar who have drawn attention to Dutch retailer Gameshop Twente, which has marked the game at €99, the equivalent of around $115. The new listing appeared earlier this month, but many fans hope that this is merely a placeholder until the actual price is announced, and I cannot help but agree. We all know that many of us would pay over $100 for a copy of Grand Theft Auto VI, but whether or not we should need to is a different situation entirely.

GTA VI may be expected to be the biggest video game release of all time, and is rumored to have cost between $1-1.5 billion to make, but with many of us having to deal with rising costs of everyday items, it would be unfair to ask for $100 for a video game, even if it is the next Grand Theft Auto.

As you can imagine, fans were outraged over the mere possibility, and took to r/PS5 to share their thoughts.

“It could, and you couldn’t blame them,” one user shared. “They have spent 1.5 billion and almost a decade making GTA 6. They are in the business of making money. Prices for games have barely gone up in the last 30 years. We were paying $50 a game back in 2000. If they raise the price of games, which every studio is praying GTA does, because if they don’t, then obviously they can’t justifiably do it. They could easily sell it for $99 to $129 and not lose sales.”

However, another was feeling less optimistic, saying, “Ain’t paying for s*it. I’ve waited this long. I can wait till next year for a like 20-30% sale. They could price this s*it above $100, and it will still be a bestseller of all time.”

Of course, it is worth taking any new of a potential price tag with a pinch of salt, even if one is listed by reputable stores. At the time of writing, neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has announced the price of Grand Theft Auto VI, as well as its pre-order dates or news of a third trailer.
