Players were convinced that official pre-orders would go live last week after a recently “confirmed” Best Buy leak suggested May 19 would be the day, but as Tuesday came and went, gamers came up empty-handed.

With November’s release date fast approaching, the likelihood of the game’s launch getting pushed back again is getting increasingly smaller. Insider Gaming later contradicted this confirmation, indicating they had no clue when pre-orders would officially drop.

Clearly, May 19 didn’t end up being the case, and gamers quickly pointed to the Thursday, May 21 Take-Two earnings call as the next port in the storm, hoping there’d be some indication of when marketing for GTA 6 would begin in earnest. Once again, the date passed without any pre-order news, and fans still aren’t completely convinced that a third delay is off the table, despite the call indicating that November seems pretty locked in for launch.

Despite no official pre-order news during the earnings call, it’s become increasingly clear that Grand Theft Auto 6 marketing is going to be in a league of its own, especially after recent revelations from Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick indicating that the official campaign will be nothing like Grand Theft Auto 5‘s marketing push, which was more focused on television advertisements.
