At this point, it’s fairly difficult to argue with the idea that Grand Theft Auto VI is the most highly anticipated game of all time, with millions of players waiting the world over to see exactly what the latest game in the series has to offer. Part of that is the additional suspense created by the two official delays to the release, with its arrival now slated for November of this year.
The game was originally supposed to have been in our collective hands already, and the fact that it isn’t just yet has created an air of nervousness around the currently scheduled date. With the magic day getting ever closer, and some major milestones still to pass, the energy is getting more tense all the time.
How Likely Is A Third GTA 6 Delay?
Over on Twitter/X, the user Synth Potato shared a post regarding their thoughts on GTA VI’s launch, saying, “I really hope GTA 6 doesn’t get delayed into 2027. We’re almost at the 6 months until release mark, AGAIN. So a delay announcement would have to be around the corner OR it’ll be Trailer 3 and a final confirmation for the date, I hope it’s the latter. We can’t take another delay.”
The next big date to look out for is May 15, when Take-Two Interactive is set to run through their next major earnings call, which has previously been the medium with which we all found out about previous delays. If we safely make it past that date, then we should be free and clear, with a third trailer in the early portion of the summer.
GTA 6 Fans Are Staying Hopeful
The comments were filled with responses from fans who are pretty sure we’re now locked in with the current day until launch, as well as those who were relatively sanguine about the idea of a potential day.
“If you’ve paid attention to Rockstar’s way of marketing their games… This last delay is 99.9% the final one… If there’s another one, then there’s a serious problem going on in the camp of Rockstar,” one said.
“We’ve never been in the ‘last 6 months’ before, so if May comes without delays, this would be the closest we’ve ever been,” another added.
“Personally, I don’t think it will get delayed again. I feel like we will get trailer 3 and pre-orders soon and then marketing for the game will kick off, and we’ll see it everywhere,” a third said.
Fingers crossed that it’s smooth sailing from here on out, with little evidence to suggest otherwise just yet. Then there’s the not insignificant matter of whether GTA VI can live up to all of the expectations that players have for it, and that’s another issue entirely.
