After winning the toss and opting to bowl, the Renegades were made to pay heavily for some loose bowling as the Scorchers piled up an imposing total of 219/7.

Allen set the tempo early and maintained his aggression throughout, dismantling the Renegades’ bowling attack with clean hitting and smart placement. He received useful support from Aaron Hardie (22 off 11) and Laurie Evans (21 off 11), ensuring the momentum never dipped in the latter half of the innings.
