Fallout fans have been waiting patiently for information on the highly anticipated next mainline game, but unfortunately they have quite a long wait ahead of them. If you’re looking for something to fill the time until Fallout 5 eventually launches, there’s an official new release planned for 2026 that you definitely won’t want to miss out on.

The new Fallout expansion will feature themes from the Amazon Prime Fallout television series, spotlighting fan-favorite characters such as Dogmeat, the infamous Ghoul Gunslinger, and more. It’s a limited-time release that will be available January 26, and fans will want to keep an eye out for further updates in the coming days.

Fallout & Magic Are Teaming Up Again

In an exciting new collaboration between Bethesda and Wizards of the Coast, players will be able to enter the wasteland in Magic: The Gathering again in the upcoming Secret Lair x Fallout Rad Superdrop (via Wizards.com). While more cards are expected to be revealed in the coming days, the new MTG expansion currently includes nine new cards with unique designs and mechanics featuring themes from the Amazon Prime Fallout series.

The first drop in the Fallout Rad Superdrop expansion is set to release on January 26 (via GameSpot), with further drops anticipated to release throughout the year. Several cards in the first drop have already been revealed, including the following:

• Lucy MacLean, Positively Armed
• The Ghoul, Gunslinger
• Maximus, Knight Apparent
• Dogmeat, Constant Companion
• Joshua Graham, Burned Man
• Mindcrank
• Mothman Egg
• Patchwork Banner
• The Platinum Chip

This isn’t the first time Fallout and MTG have teamed up, with a massive release in 2024 of four Commander decks featuring characters, locations, and items from the various Fallout video games.

The New Expansion Will Launch This Year

If you’re looking to collect these limited-time Magic: The Gathering cards, the first official release is currently scheduled for January 26, with new sets of cards likely to drop in batches intermittently afterward. The recent PlayStation superdrop event with MTG, for example, released seven total different drops featuring various PS-themed cards such as The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima.

Fallout fans have several releases on the way outside of this exciting new MTG expansion, including the recently announced Fallout: New Vegas Anniversary Edition as well as rumors of an official remaster. While Fallout 5 is still a long way off and these new announcements aren’t exactly the news fans are looking for, there’s a ton of great new content to keep them busy in the meantime.
