Fallout 4 Just Got An All-New Quest You Can Download Free Now

Fallout 4 has a fascinating history. I’m not just talking about its development and the reaction to the game, but about the actual living history that breathes throughout the Boston-set wasteland adventure.

While the main story wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, there are a lot of little details packed into the game’s map, and tons of fans have really taken to the construction/building element to craft incredible creations.

Now, over a decade after its release, it’s getting a new quest that’s worth checking out. If you’re a massive Fallout fan, there are several reasons why you should check it out as you continue your long wait for Fallout 5 (Via RPS).

Titled “Double Feature,” you can explore a secret part of Boston’s archive. Over on Nexus Mods, you can grab a free new quest now, and it’s a bit of a doozy: in terms of the quest itself and the process that everyone went through to craft it. Wes Johnson, Fallout series veteran (among many other projects like the Elder Scrolls series and Starfield), lends his voice to the special quest, as well as Jan Johns and Leer Leary.

Here’s a full description from the team: “Questline with characters voiced by Fallout alums: Wes Johnson, Jan Johns, and Leer Leary. Crafted by Otellino, Kinggath Creations, and the Concord Stories team; new player home by Elianora; new custom weapon by Neeher; new power armor by Niero and CaptainUltima; and a voiced companion. This was created almost entirely in 1 weekend for charity!”

Experienced writers penned the script, which features a dungeon, a player home, and a new weapon, power armor, and another companion. In a fun twist, one team worked on the game over one weekend to craft this mod, which is being done for charity.

If you want to jump in, here’s how you kick off the mod after downloading and installing it: “In Cambridge, near CIT in that Raider camp, is a ‘damaged Protectron’ calling out for help. Quest should trigger when you get close.”

After you’re done with this quest, you should check out some of the best mods Fallout 4 has to offer, several of which are transformative in nature. While Fallout 4 had more flaws at launch, some of them have been addressed by official and unofficial patches over the years.

When Fallout 5 eventually hits, the team will need to make an even bigger splash and ensure everything is in tip-top shape in terms of performance. While Bethesda is taking its time, many fans are hoping it’s already made good progress so far, so that we can prep for a great launch.
