Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca remains “100%” secure in his position for the season, despite the team’s dip in form, according to club director Jonathan Goldstein.

After making the move from Leicester City, Maresca oversaw an impressive start to his tenure in West London.

Chelsea were competing alongside Liverpool and Arsenal for the Premier League title heading into the Christmas period.

However, since their 2-0 win over Brentford in December, Chelsea have managed only two victories in their last nine league fixtures.

Their latest setback was a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brighton, raising concerns over their performance.

Despite the club’s history of managerial changes, Chelsea have now fallen to sixth place, slipping out of the Champions League qualification spots.

However, Goldstein has publicly expressed his support for Maresca, becoming the first board member to do so.

“He’s doing a great job,” said Goldstein, a key figure in the BlueCo consortium that acquired Chelsea in 2022. “Chelsea started the season very well.

“The past six weeks have been, you know, finding their feet a little bit more. But Enzo has clearly done a great job in bringing the team together, bringing the talent through.

When asked if Maresca would remain in charge for the remainder of the season, Goldstein simply said: “100%.”

Chelsea are set to face Aston Villa on Saturday in a crucial match that could significantly impact their chances of securing European football next season.

While Chelsea initially appeared to be title contenders, Maresca has consistently stated that their primary focus has always been securing a top-four finish rather than mounting a championship challenge.
