Maresca on Caicedo replacement


Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has revealed a couple of options to replace Moises Caicedo in the upcoming Premier League games.

The Ecuador international picked up a straight red card against Arsenal last weekend and he is therefore suspended for the next three league matches.

In his absence, Andrey Santos seems the natural replacement for the number six role, but Maresca has hinted that Josh Acheampong could be used too.

He said: “Andrey [Santos]  is ready. His position is playing as a no.6, like Moi, but he is ready. One that can play good in that position is Josh [Acheampong], but we will see.”

The Blues take on Leeds United on the road tomorrow. They should be overwhelming favourites to beat the Whites due to their sublime form.

Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw against Arsenal with 10 men last weekend. They were the better side even after Caicedo received his marching orders.

The Blues face Bournemouth and Everton in the league after Leeds.
