Maresca on Guiu

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided an injury update on Marc Guiu ahead of the first leg of the Conference League quarter-final against Legia Warsaw tomorrow.

The Blues go into the game on the road as firm favourites. In his pre-match presser, Maresca has revealed that Guiu is making good progress from his hamstring injury sustained in February.

He told reporters: “Marc, we have good news today that he looks good and quite better. He can be back before the season finishes.”

The Spaniard was signed from Barcelona last summer and he has had minimal playing time. Guiu has primarily played in the Cup competitions.

Guiu is poised to return in the coming weeks and Maresca will be hoping that he can contribute towards the club’s objectives this campaign.

Chelsea are presently fourth in the Premier League and look in a strong position to qualify for the Champions League with a top-five finish.

They will also be aiming to win the Conference League.
