Elden Ring 2026 DLC Officially Confirmed

With FromSoftware planning on expanding the world of Elden Ring even more with the launch of its Tarnished Edition, the question still remains as to when fans can expect to see the award-winning RPG head to the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. Not only that, but with brand-new IP, The Duskbloods, also expected to release as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, a recent financial report may have just shed some light on when we can dive into the next FromSoftware hit.

Elden Ring: The Tarnished Edition is an upcoming release which will include the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, new weapons, Ashes of War, armor sets, and even two brand-new starting classes: The Knight of Ides and the ‘Heavy Armor Warrior’. The Knights are seemingly Quality-focused characters who wield a Light Greatsword, whilst the class, currently nicknamed ‘Heavy Armor Warrior’, is a Strength character, wielding a Greatsword. On top of these brand-new additions, there will also be new armor for Torrent, which is the most important, in my opinion.

First announced back in 2025, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is yet to receive a release date, other than a standard release window of 2026.

On top of that, FromSoftware is also expected to release The Duskbloods some time this year. In the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive title, which supports up to eight players, players will embark on both PvP and PvE combat in a dark fantasy world reigned over by vampire-like creatures known as Bloodsworn. With each vampire possessing unique weapons and abilities, the official synopsis reads as follows:

As humanity reaches its end, a source known as the First Blood flows. With this, comes the Twilight of humanity, where locations across time and space converge. There, Bloodsworn are to fight beings who through blood have surpassed the limits of humanity.

Set to be FromSoftware’s first exclusive game for a Nintendo console since 2003’s Lost Kingdoms II, The Duskbloods remains yet a mystery when it comes to that highly anticipated release date.

However, it seems as though we may finally have an idea as to when we can expect to see the launch of both Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods. This news comes courtesy of Kadokawa who, in its latest financial report, confirmed that the two FromSoftware titles are still on track for a 2026 release, despite rumors of a potential delay.

In the FY2025 results vs. FY2026 forecast section of their report, the following can be seen: “We expect sales to increase, with contributions from multiple mobile game releases. Profit will decline from FY2025 due largely to Elden Ring: Nightreign main game and DLC… FromSoftware is expected to contribute Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, as well as The Duskbloods (both slated for a 2026 release for the Nintendo Switch 2), a completely new title.”

As you can see, the report does not include any specific dates for the launch of either titles, but it is still reassuring to see that both Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition and The Duskbloods are on track for that 2026 release. Hopefully, they will arrive sooner rather than later.
