Doctor Who Meets Severance In Disney+'s 2-Part Sci-Fi Series

Disney+ is home to a two-part sci-fi TV show that is a perfect combination of the best things about Doctor Who and Severance. Although the Disney brand is still mostly associated with content aimed at a young audience, the studio has plenty of movies and TV shows for families and more mature viewers. This created a new timeline, thus alerting the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an organization that monitors the timeline and makes sure that no branches are created. Loki is arrested by the TVA, and he’s given two options: being erased from existence as he’s a variant, or helping fix the timeline.

Loki chooses the latter, so he travels through time, along with TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson), as he hunts another variant of his named Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino). This mission takes Loki beyond the limits of time and space, where he meets the creator of the TVA and learns some disturbing secrets about the organization, the multiverse, and an impending war. In Loki season 2, the title character, Mobius, and other characters rush to save the TVA and the multiverse from a catastrophic collapse.

Loki has been praised for its concept, production design, performances, depth, complexity, and character development, especially Loki’s, who was finally given the redemption that the movies failed at. Loki showed that there’s depth to superhero stories without having to get rid of action and fun moments, bringing a perfect balance of sci-fi, superheroes, drama, emotion, and well-written characters. Loki is unlike any other sci-fi show of the decade, and it’s a must-watch even for those who aren’t into the MCU.

How Loki Became The Most Important Show Of The MCU

Loki not only left its mark in the sci-fi genre but also in the MCU.
