According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Liverpool have made Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig their priority target this summer, as they look to reinforce their wide attacking options this summer in view of Mohamed Salah’s imminent departure.
The 19-year-old is regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young players, and Liverpool are among the strongest contenders to sign him. However, competition is expected to be intense, with several top clubs monitoring his situation.
Leipzig are keen to retain Diomande for at least another season, especially after securing qualification for the 2026–27 Champions League. Nevertheless, the club may consider selling if a suitable offer is made, with their asking price believed to exceed €100million.
Liverpool have already positioned themselves favorably in discussions with the player, and if progress continues, formal negotiations between the clubs could follow. The outcome may also depend on Liverpool’s own season, particularly whether Arne Slot’s side secures Champions League qualification.
Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Diomande, though their pursuit may hinge on potential departures within their squad and alternative targets they are assessing.
