2027 is shaping up to be a major year for Crunchyroll productions, since a new update regarding the streaming service points to a release window for one of anime’s most anticipated movies. Announced at Anime Expo 2026, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is a new movie from the Japanese animation studio A-1 Pictures that will directly continue Sung Jinwoo’s story following the events of the second season. However, it was initially confirmed along with a promotional teaser, with no indication of a release date. Fortunately, a new report about Crunchyroll’s upcoming releases suggests Solo Leveling could potentially premiere internationally in 2027.

The Numbers, a platform providing detailed financial analysis of movies, recently listed a new film distributed by Crunchyroll, “Untitled Sony Pictures Film,” scheduled for release in September 2027. Although there is no official confirmation from Crunchyroll, the fact that the film is being distributed by both Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures has sparked speculation that it could be the upcoming Solo Leveling movie.

Solo Leveling Movie’s Release Window May Have Been Revealed in a New Report

While Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is another potential candidate for this listing, the fact that an international release is planned for September 15, 2027, and a domestic release for September 17, 2027, makes Solo Leveling a more likely possibility. Demon Slayer’s movies have historically premiered in the Japanese market months before its widespread international release.

In contrast, Solo Leveling has already demonstrated strong international appeal. The franchise’s first film, Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, saw an international release very close to its Japanese debut, premiering in Japanese theaters on November 29, 2024, and launching internationally and in the United States on December 6, 2024.
