Pedro to miss Bournemouth game?

Chelsea striker Joao Pedro could remain sidelined for the upcoming Premier League clash against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazil international has been a key player upfront for the Blues, but he was ruled out against Brentford before the international break due to an edema in his knee.

It was anticipated that Pedro would return in time for the season restart this month, but it appears he has not fully recovered from the untimely blow.

Pedro went to see a specialist at the start of the week, but there has not been a clear-cut update since then to confirm whether he will be involved this weekend.

Hence, it looks more likely that he will be sidelined for the Cherries clash, though it may not be long before he returns to first-team action for Chelsea.

Danny Welbeck started as the number nine at Brentford last month, and should continue in the same role against Bournemouth on Saturday.
