View Chelsea summer 2026 transfer targets
Chelsea are prepared to make three readymade signings for new manager Xabi Alonso, according to The Times.
The Blues suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium earlier today.
Shortly after the loss, the west London giants have secured a full agreement with Alonso to become their permanent manager.
Alonso is expected to be backed with funds in the summer, and the focus could be on three readymade signings.
The Blues have been guilty in the past of pursuing players with potential rather than making marquee acquisitions.
That is expected to change with Alonso at the helm. The Spaniard will have more power to decide on the club’s summer transfers.
A new centre-forward could be prioritised to compete with Joao Pedro, given Liam Delap and Marc Guiu have been pretty poor.
A top-class goalkeeper could also be signed alongside another left winger. The Blues could spend more than £200m this summer.
