Caicedo won’t start vs Bournemouth

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo looks unlikely to start for the Blues during the Premier League clash against Bournemouth this weekend.

The Ecuadorian star has been struggling with a calf issue since the start of the campaign and has played just 14 minutes of Premier League football.

He made his return to the playing field in a friendly against Portsmouth recently but was substituted before the half-time interval.

The Blues are handling him with extra caution to avoid a recurrence and it is unlikely that Caicedo will start against the Cherries this weekend.

Instead, he could be named as part of the matchday squad. Manager Xabi Alonso could introduce him during the final phase of the game.

Chelsea have had a dismal start to the league campaign and have picked up only seven points after five matches. They are winless in three games.

The Blues will be eager to end the streak against the Cherries. Cole Palmer looks fit to feature but there are doubts over Joao Pedro‘s fitness.
