Maresca on Lavia

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has returned to full training after recovering from a hamstring injury, according to manager Enzo Maresca.

The Belgium international has entered his second season with the Blues, but he has yet to become a regular starter due to his injury woes.

Lavia has had six separate injuries with the Blues and it remains to be seen whether he can stay fit for the remainder of the current campaign.

Speaking in today’s presser, Maresca said that Lavia is training with the team again, but he could be eased back into action from the bench.

He said: “The good thing is we have Romeo now. He’s started [training] with us already. He can be back. He could be fit, but just not playing from the start. We need to be ready.”

Chelsea are currently one point behind the guaranteed Champions League places. They are firm favourites to beat Leicester City at home this weekend.
