James won’t face Man Utd

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has provided an update on Reece James ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.

The Blues have been in a horrendous run of form in the league and have picked up only three points from their last five matches. They were well beaten 3-0 by Manchester City last weekend.

The west London giants now welcome United to the Bridge on Saturday. Ahead of the encounter, Rosenior has revealed that the game will come too soon for James, who has been out with a hamstring issue.

He told reporters: “Reece is a little bit further away.”

While James is ruled out of the game, centre-back Trevoh Chalobah has an outside chance of making the matchday squad, having returned to full training with his teammates in the last few days.

Chelsea are currently four points behind fifth-placed Liverpool in the race for the final Champions League spot. They must beat United this weekend to avoid losing further ground in the pursuit.
